A large square canvas from the marble-and-chalk stage of the series, worked entirely in black and white — the mineral texture doing the work that colour usually does, catching light and shadow as the pigment shifts across the surface.

Stripped of colour, the contrast carries the whole composition: dense in places, almost bare in others. At 150 × 150cm it holds a room without needing to shout.
