Some titles are ironic. This one isn't.

At 320 centimetres, "Royal Abstract" doesn't ask permission to take up space — it simply does, the way certain rooms are built around a single piece of furniture, or certain walls exist for exactly one painting. The colour is dense, saturated, unapologetic. Nothing about it whispers.

It belongs to an earlier stage of the practice, before epoxy and mineral grounds entered the material vocabulary — pure pigment, pure gesture, painted at a scale that leaves no room for hesitation. You don't glance at a painting this size. You reckon with it.
